Health Checkups and Examinations

Health Checkups

 Residents may receive one health checkup per year free of charge. The period in which one may undergo a checkup varies according to the month you were born.

Younger Generation Health Checkup:For those who are between 16 and 39 years of age.
Specific Health Checkups:Members of Mitaka City National Health Insurance who are between 40 and 74 years of age.
Medical Checkups for the Very Elderly:Members of the Medical Treatment System for Elderly People at an Advanced Age.
Adult Dental Health Checkup:For those who are 40 years of age or older.

Application

 Please apply directly at the service counter for younger generation health checkups and adult dental health checkups. Health checkup slips for specific health checkups and medical checkups for the very elderly are mailed to all eligible persons.

Various Types of Health Examinations

Stomach Cancer X-Ray Checkups (Group Basis) (For those who are 40 years of age or older)
Stomach Cancer Endoscopy Checkups (Individual Basis) (For those who are 50 years of age or older)
Frequency: Once every two years
Stomach Cancer Risk Checkups (for those who are 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 years of age)
Tuberculosis Checkup (For those who are 16 years of age or older, excluding those applying for the special health checkups and the medical checkups for the very elderly)
Lung Cancer Checkup (For those who are 40 years of age or older)
Colon Cancer Checkup (For those who are 40 years of age or older)
Breast Cancer Checkup (For women who are 30 years of age or older) Frequency: Once every two years
Uterine Cancer Checkup (For women who are 20 years of age or older)
Eye Checkup (For those who are 40 years of age or older)
Osteoporosis Checkup (For women who are 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70 years of age)

 Health checkups are announced in the “Koho Mitaka” City Bulletin (in Japanese).
 To apply for a checkup, write the type of exam you wish to take, your name, address, date of birth, age, telephone number and sex on a postcard and send the postcard to The Comprehensive Health Center, 37-1 Shinkawa 6-chome, Mitaka City 181-0004. (Applications may also be filed at the reception counter. Please apply for a tuberculosis checkup on the day. Please apply for colon cancer checkups and lung cancer checkups at any cooperating medical institution.)
