Bicycle Parking Lots and Removal of Illegally-parked Bicycles

 Mitaka City has set up bicycle parking lots, mainly in areas around the train stations, and at the same time has established a city ordinance to prevent illegally-parked bicycles and motorcycles. Accordingly, areas around Mitaka Station, Inokashira Koen Station, Mitakadai Station, Tsutsujigaoka Station have been designated as noparking areas. It is prohibited to leave your bicycle or motorcycle in these areas, and vehicles that are illegally-parked even after a warning and instructions are issued will be removed.
 No-parking areas are designated on the streeet by large signs, symbols and stickers.

*In order to use bicycle parking lots that require registration, you must apply for approval of registration beforehand.

*Bicycles left on the street, even for a short period while one goes shopping, pose a serious threat to the physically-weak and people using wheelchairs.
 Please use bicycle parking lots for shoppers and temporary-use parking lots when you go shopping in the area in front of Mitaka Station. You can park your bicycle in parking lots for shoppers for up to three hours.
 Please note that you will be charged at some temporary-use parking lots.

How to Claim Your Bicycle If It Has Been Removed

Hours:Monday through Friday, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (except on national holidays and from December 29 through January 3)

Location:Mitaka Municipal Removed Bicycle Storage Facility (2-3, Nozaki 3-chome)

Necessary Items:(1)Your bicycle key, (2)some form of identification, (3)bicycle-return notice, (4)removal fee (¥2,500 for bicycles, ¥4,000 for motorcycles)
