Hanami or 'Cherry-blossom viewing' is a Japanese cultural tradition where people enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms. Many people make the most of this happy time by getting together for parties in the park and elsewhere.
Inokashira Park
One of Tokyo's best cherry blossom-viewing spots.
International Christian University
A road lined with cherry trees stretches in a straight line for around 600m
from the main gate of International Christian University.
The trees create a tunnel of cherry blossoms from late March to early April.
Mureno Sato Park
Sidare-zakura (weeping cherry trees), also called Ito-zakura, with low-hanging
branches come to full bloom in mid April.
Sengawa Park
Visitors can enjoy viewing the many Yae-zakura (double-flowered cherry
trees) with layer upon layer of petals. The blossoms are at their best in mid
April.
