Program: Schumann/ 5 Pieces in Folk Style Op. 102 Stravinsky/Italian Suite Franck (arranged by Lipkin)/ Violin Sonata in A Major (solo cello performance)
Hailed as a prodigy from his youth, the Israel-born Lipkin has taken bold steps in the music world, yet still has his feet firmly planted on traditional soil. Following a concert in Germany, Zaslavsky was described as “a lion of the keyboard, a pianist possessing transcendent technique.”The program for this event includes an arrangement of the Italian Suite from Stravinsky’s ballet Pulcinella, Lipkin’s arrangement of a Franck sonata, and other pieces.
