Mitaka residents are eligible for a Supplementary Income Payment and a Special Allowance for Child-Rearing. The application deadline for Supplementary Income Payments is October 1. Make sure to get your application in well before time!
Children eligible for the allowance:
Children who, on February 1, 2009,

1. are registered on the Mitaka City Residents' Register or Foreign Resident Register (excepting illegal and short-term residents)
2. were born between April 2, 2002 and April 1, 2005
3. are the second child (*) of the family or one of the subsequent children

(*) Children, (those born on or after April 2, 1990), are classed as the first or second child of the family by their age.
